The Caucus is glad to see that Brian has continued the fight against the Obama justice department to uphold our state’s voter ID law.  Georgia needs a Secretary of State who will continue to ensure that Georgia has free and fair elections by validating all those who participate in the elections process.

Casey Tucker is running in a special election for GA House District 141. The Republican Liberty Caucus of Georgia believes that Casey Tucker adheres to the principles of small government, individual liberty, and fiscal responsibility. The Republican Liberty Caucus of Georgia invites all Republicans, conservatives, and small government citizens in the 141st House District of Georgia to vote for Casey Tucker as their State Representative.

Casey has signed the Liberty Compact pledging “that as their elected representative I will work to: restore liberty, not restrict it; shrink government, not expand it; reduce taxes, not raise them; abolish programs, not create them; promote the freedom and independence of citizens, not the interference of government in their lives; and observe the limited, enumerated powers of our Constitution, not ignore them.”

The Republican Liberty Caucus of Georgia also extends its endorsement to Bill Greene in his race for Braselton Town Council District 2 seat. Bill Greene believes that Braselton must be “held up as an example to surrounding communities, a “shining city on a hill.” Mr. Greene has also signed the Liberty Compact.

Only one incumbent member of Congress merits the endorsement of the Republican Liberty Caucus and that Congressman is Dr. Paul Broun. From his first vote in the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Broun has shown that he doesn’t fall lock-step with his party’s leadership when they trample on the constitution to score political points with powerful special interest groups.

Alas, Dr. Broun’s opponent is perfectly willing to pander to the prejudices of his district. Broun’s opponent was the primary sponsor of a bill that would lower the number of jurors needed to decide to sentence someone to the death penalty. The act of taking a person’s life is the penultimate punishment that can be meted out by the state, and it is the only one that can not be undone if the person is later exonerated. If anything the threshold for sentencing someone to death should be raised, not lowered.

Based on the records of both candidates, it is clear that Paul Broun is a man of integrity. He is a man who takes his oath of office – to support and defend the Constitution of the United States – with the utmost regard. We encourage all RLC members and supports in the 10th Congressional District to cast their vote for Paul Broun on Tuesday July 15th.
